Healthy New Year resolution? These 3 smoothie recipes are the perfect kickstart

First of all, here at Pure Chimp we want to wish all our customers a very Happy New Year! It is that time of year when we are all thinking about what changes to make for the forthcoming 12 months.

 

Healthy eating, weight loss and maybe even a detox are amongst the most popular promises made when the clock strikes 12; especially popular when considering that many of us will be likely to indulge during those festive months.

Smoothies are not only a great way to make sure that you up your fruit and vegetable intake, they also are easy to make and perfect for those who need to take the grab and run approach to breakfast in the morning.

So with this in mind; your friends at Pure Chimp have put together some of the yummiest smoothie recipes out there so that you can not only enjoy a health kick this January, but also make sure that it is delicious too!

Creamy Mango and Coconut

It may come as a surprise but smoothies don’t always need to contain dairy; in fact this particular recipe has none at all but still tastes great.

All you need is 200ml of coconut milk, 4 tbsp of coconut milk yogurt, 1 banana,1 tbsp ground flax, sunflower and pumpkin seed and 120g of frozen mango chunks.

Simply pop all these ingredients together and blitz until smooth. Finish it off by scraping the passionfruit seeds on top of your glass!

Super green veg

We all know that when it comes to nutrition; you simply can’t beat the power of the green vegetables. So for those who are really looking for a boost, you really can’t go wrong with this particular smoothie combination.

A generous handful of spinach and kale is mixed with a peeled (and stone less) avocado, 50g pineapple and 10cm of cucumber cubed up. These are blitzed together with around 300ml of coconut water to create a delicious zing to power your morning.

Sweet Matcha Smoothie

Of course, it wouldn’t be a PureChimp collection of recipe ideas if we didn’t pop in a Matcha recipe.

There are plenty of ways you can spruce up your favourite green drink but we have found that this particular one is truly delicious and great for you too.

All it contains is 1/2 tsp of matcha, one cup of almond milk, one ripe banana, 1 tbsp of honey and 4 ice cubes.

After blending all of these ingredients together you will have created a really lovely smoothie that is not only perfect for breakfast but works fab at lunchtime or in the afternoon too.

So there you have it, just 3 ideas to get you started on your juicy adventure. Why not experiment with some of your most fruits and vegetables to see what flavour combinations you can create.
