Let’s be honest a lot of products we find in supermarkets are junk foods that have been mass produced. It can be really hard to find a truly healthy snack. So we have decided to do the research for you and have picked out our top 5 supermarket snacks.
All of the below snacks are affordable, tasty & good for you. We have given each product a score out of 5. We are not receiving any money for this blog post so we are giving you our genuine opinions.
Nakd Raw Bars
Nakd really tick all the boxes with their Raw Bars. Tasty, affordable, natural & easily accessible. Will they become as popular as Mars Bars in the UK?
It would be rude not to give this product 5 out of 5.
Cashew Nuts (not salted)
We love cashew nuts as they are tasty, filling and full of goodness. Also readily available in most supermarkets due to the growing popularity.
Always go for the unsalted variety. They taste great unsalted and are the prefect snack. Full of protein & good fats. Don’t let the fat content scare you. A small handful should do the trick!
P.S All unsalted nuts are a great & healthy snack.
Natures Valley Granola Bars
A tasty snack at a great price but…….Contains sugar (oh no!) and a couple of other suspicious ingredients. A great snack but it has room for improvement on the ingredients list.
Nairns Oat Cakes
Based around the super healthy & tasty grain oats. Great idea & nice variety in their product range. They have managed to crack it….a healthy & affordable snack.
The only issue is you need to add somethings to make this product taste great, which can be inconvenient for some when you are at work. At PureChimp we love to dip the oatcakes in Hummus.
Another nice health bar that has potential but has room for improvement. Why would you create a healthy bar & then go add a cheap & unhealthy ingredients like Golden Syrup, Vegetable Oil, Raw Cane Sugar & Salt. There are healthier ways to sweeten foods!
On the plus side they have managed to make nuts & seeds taste great for a sweet tooth.
