Matcha Ice Cream take 2 (ice cream maker)
When it comes to making matcha ice cream there are not many ingredients that you need to pick up.
- 240ml of whole milk
- 240ml of whipping cream
- 3 tbsp of matcha powder
- 100g of sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
The method with an ice cream maker
If you are lucky enough to have an ice cream maker in your kitchen then the process for creating matcha ice cream is pretty easy.
To prepare the mixture for the ice cream you will need to whisk together the milk, cream, sugar and salt in a saucepan.
The mixture will need to be gently heated over a medium heat with the matcha powder added as it gets warm. As the mixture starts to foam (but before it boils) it should be removed from the heat.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl within an ice bath to cool. Once cool the mixture should be wrapped and placed in the fridge to chill for a further 2-3 hours.
Once chilled the mixture should be added to the pre chilled bowl of the ice cream maker and churned as per the instructions on the maker.
So go ahead, make yourself some delicious matcha ice cream to give you a new and fresh way to enjoy a delicious burst of matcha!
