What is it?
Our summer drink of choice has to be the Iced Matcha Almond Latte. Most of us will allow ourselves to indulge in a cold milky drink from one of the popular coffee shop chains from time to time; but what if you could create a delicious variety of our own at home? One that was healthy as well as tasty!
What will I need?
The ingredients for this recipe are easy to get hold of and can be found at any supermarket with ease. They are:
- 1/3 cup water
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- 1 heaped scoop of matcha
- 1⁄2 teaspoon agave (optional)
How do I make it?
This drink is easy to make. All you need to do is pop all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with a few cubes of ice and shake them all together. Once mixed and cold they can be poured over more ice for a refreshing and healthy treat.
Simple huh? No need for a blender, or for standing for ages chopping fruit. You can make it in minutes and then head outside to enjoy your drink in the sunshine!
Why is it so good for me?
So we have already said that this is a delicious recipe, but what makes it all the better is that it is good for you too.
We already know about the amazing health benefits of matcha. But what about the other ingredients?
Almond milk is vegan friendly and in its unsweetened form has lower calories than other forms of milk. It is free from cholesterol, saturated fat and contains no lactose at all!
Agave (the optional extra)is a natural occurring sweetener that can be added for those who like the sweet things in life. Not only does it give food a nice flavour it also doesn’t have the high (and crash) that you can feel from sugary drinks.
